Portland

After leaving Port Mcdonnell and heading across the border into Victoria we decided to stay a couple nights in Portland and try do some hunting. We jack knifed the trailer one night and bent the draw bar on it pretty bad which we didn't even realise till late the next day. Didn't end up seeing to much in portland on our hunts and one night it poured down which made us have to move camp. Also had to use the winch for the first time as i drove onto a dry swamp which wasn't such a good idea

Penola

While in Port Mcdonnell we headed out to Penola for a couple of days to do some hunting mainly searching for deer. We seen a few but couldn't get close enough to them. Also seen a few other critters but didn't really have to much luck.

Port Mcdonnell

We arrived at Shaun's joint in Port Mcdonnell after seeing the sights of Mt Gambier, pretty much Dan Murphy's and Woolworths. Shaun has an old crayfish set up house which we stayed at with pool, darts and table tennis. Was good as the shed was massive so that is were we would usually just hang out most the time having beers. Got a surf in which was good fun even though it was freezing cold lucky for the 4/3 and hood. There are some pretty cool springs and crystal clear lakes around Port Mac which are a bit of a spin out. Went out one Saturday night in Mt Gambier which was pretty funny and also to Shaun's mum's 50th. Also to the footy club one night were Ben decided to verse this guy in a game of slaps. The guy reckons he hasn't been beaten since year 9 and this was the outcome of Ben's hand after the game was stopped after like an hour. Was a good stay in Port Mcdonnell. Thanks Shaun, Sharon and Steve for letting us stay at your joint. Thanks also to Shaun's parents for inviting us round for dinners and cooking us cakes. Off to Victoria now

Salt Creek

After Adelaide we decided we needed a bit of a break and decided to pull into Salt Creek as we were over driving. We ended up staying a couple of nights of which all of them were pretty much freezing. We mainly just set about going out and looking for critters to hunt which there were plenty of. Didn't really end up with much but still was good fun. Heading to Port Mcdonnell next which is pretty close to the Victorian border.

Adelaide

So we arrived in Adelaide Thursday night and checked into west beach caravan park. We ended up staying for 5  nights of which all we went out and got pretty loose. We skated some real good parks near the caravan park when we could which was good fun. Also went and stocked up on some more bowhunting stuff and Ben got a new bow. On the last day as we headed out we went into the city for a little bit of a look around but as most cities are it was so busy and hectic so we didn't last to long.

Stansbury and the Bottom End

So we arrived in Stansbury Friday night and pulled up to Mitchy's house once he had got home. Really nice house with our own beds and a hot shower something we hadn't seen for a couple of months and were pretty keen to test out. We arrived to a cooked dinner which we were both frothing on as Macca's had started to wear off. Next morning/afternoon once Mitch had stuffed around for what seemed like two hours we headed down the bottom end for a surf. We ended up surfing a pretty fun right and seen a couple of classic ways to use a cliff one was Mitchy slipping off trying to get into the surf and the other was an old bloke actually i wont say what he was doing but ill let you guess. That night was a get together at the Goody's house which was a big barbecue and beers and wine mine and Ben's favourite. Next afternoon back to the bottom end for a surf this time at a left which was fun as it was only us guy's out. On the Monday Mitchy scored the day off so we headed back down to Marion to launch the boat and try get some Bluefin tuna. Even though the wind was pretty strong we headed out and hooked into four only landing three but we all got one and a bit bigger than Cactus. The next five or so days were windy and rain which had us thanking we were in a house and not out in a tent. The next Saturday came round so we headed down the bottom end to stay a few nights and try get some waves. Surfed the Sunday and Monday which were both pretty fun waves then on the Tuesday Ben and I took the boat out to try find some tuna but there was no bird action so we just jigged and got some Swallowtail and Skippy and that. That night we went for a hunt and got some roo for the freezer. Next day was my birthday so we decided to put the tub back in and go to wedge to chase some Bluefin tuna. There were heaps of bust up's and birds everywhere and we ended up landing about fifteen. Then back to Stansbury for a meal at the pub and a bottle of Captain Morgan. Next day was a slow pack up then headed to Adelaide for the weekend. Have to say a big thanks to Marty, Linda, Mitch and Tayla for putting up with us and letting us stay at your house and cooking us dinner pretty much every night it was great and we cant thank you enough. Also to the rest of the Family and Friends you made our stay really enjoyable.
